Camp Kahquah woke up to breezy, sunny weather this morning, which didn’t hold several campers back from dipping in the lake for their morning activities. Others chose running, aerobics, and dodge ball among other activities. The least attended activity was the showers, as no camper wanted this as their first morning activity!
Next up was flag rising where Uncle Matt led the group in a short devotional, reminding us that this day is the Lord’s day. It ended with a countdown and the group exclaiming “thank you!” to God for the first full day of camp.
Cabin leaders and campers enjoyed breakfast together before selecting their daily activities. Following that, cabins were cleaned and the cleanest cabin earned points for their team!
Afterwards campers and leaders headed to the Big Top to worship together and listen to Christina share about how uniquely created we each are. In small groups, cabins created special art pieces and chatted about what makes us unique. Campers then participated in their first activity, with much anticipation and excitement.
The theme of lunch was Candy Shoppe so campers arrived to lunch in some “sweet” get ups. From a giant group lollipop, to life savers, skittles, and gummy bears, there was quite an assortment.
The afternoon was filled with activity two and three which consisted of canoeing, kayaking, tubing, watersports, crafts, gaga ball, high and low ropes, beach, and more! Kids had an eventful time at each activity!
We cooled off at the beach during free swim and dried off before dinner. This week there is a sneaky mouse who has snatched the candy from Candyland. We found this out at campfire last night. Tonight’s game involves the classic counsellor hunt with a Candyland twist.
Next up was campfire led by the Cabin leaders. Many laughs were had and everyone had a wonderful time. Here’s to finding out about the mouse!
